Summer camps at JPCC
Our summer camps are each one week in duration, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m for kids ages 6–11 and 11-13. Babysitters’ Bootcamp and Jr. Lifeguard are offered for students age 11 and older only. The cost for each weekly session is $135. A $10 discount is offered for additional family members who live at the same address.
Registration fee includes all supplies, morning snack, lunch and afternoon swim. Late registrations can be accepted if space is available. A fee of $5 per child will apply if signing up on first day of any camp.
Session 1: July 9-13
It’s not too late to plant! Grow some of your own veggies this summer. A short course in how fresh food is available in our own backyards, even if you don’t have a lot of space. Learn about composting and take home plant starts for your own mini-garden. Using fresh fruits, you’ll make a healthy smoothie each morning for a snack. Daily activities also include rock wall climbing, big group games and an afternoon swim. All supplies included.
Session 2: July 16-20
S.O.S. Kitchen (Save Our Summer!)
The sun is out and the berries are ripe now, but sweet and juicy fruits can be savored in winter, spring and fall too. You’ll learn to make jams and discover other methods of preserving fruit and vegetables to enjoy the delicious flavor of summer all year long. Enjoy other activities including rock wall climbing and gym time. All supplies, a morning snack and lunch are provided. Swimming is offered each afternoon, so bring a swimsuit and towel.
Session 2: July 16-20
Jr. Lifeguard (ages 11 and older)
Are you interested in learning about becoming a lifeguard? Then this camp is for you! See what it takes to make sure swimmers are safe. You’ll practice real-life skills used by lifeguards, including CPR and rescue drills. Rock wall climbing and other fun activities are included in the weeklong camp. All supplies, morning snack and lunch are provided. You’ll be “on deck” in the morning and swim every afternoon; bring a swimsuit and towel.
Session 3: July 23-27
Bring your curiosity and investigative skills to solve mini-mysteries every day this week. It’s not quite CSI, but you’ll learn about fingerprinting and other crime-solving techniques. For a physically active challenge, we’ll unlock the mysteries of unique challenge course problems like the Spider’s Web, Traffic Jam and Nitro Transfer. All supplies, a morning snack and lunch are provided. Swimming is offered each afternoon, so bring a swimsuit and towel.
Session 4: July 30 – Aug 3 – SESSION IS FULL
Not for couch potatoes! There’s more to being physically fit than just pumping iron. Good nutrition, healthy habits and regular exercise are all important elements of fitness. This camp will make learning about it fun! Create a different flavor smoothie every day for a snack. Make your own jump rope for a week of workouts. All supplies, a morning snack and lunch are provided, plus a healthy, kid-friendly recipe booklet. Swimming is offered each afternoon, so bring a swimsuit and towel.
Session 4: July 30 – Aug 3
Babysitters’ Bootcamp (ages 11 and older)
Learn about CPR, AED use, first aid and safety. Discover new games and activities to entertain small children during babysitting jobs. All supplies, a morning snack and lunch are provided. Swimming is offered each afternoon, so bring a swimsuit and towel.
